Central Illinois Radiological Associates (CIRA) was founded in 1938 and remains independently owned by its physicians. The group includes more than 93 board-certified radiologists who read for more than 26 hospitals and clinics across the Midwest. CIRA partners directly with hospitals and physicians rather than operating under a hospital system.
The Decision
A practice of this size does not change its reading platform without a clear reason. CIRA intends to keep growing, with more sites, more volume, and more subspecialty coverage. Each new location typically brings servers, software installs, and local IT support. CIRA looked for a platform that could support that growth without adding this overhead at every site.
The Platform
CIRA selected New Lantern's cloud-native platform. The worklist, viewer, and reporting tools run in a single browser-based workspace that is available wherever CIRA's radiologists read. Curie, New Lantern's Agentic AI Resident Assistant, pre-drafts each report. The radiologist reviews, edits, and signs every one.
