Learn how New Lantern’s agentic AI applies your admin’s routing rules automatically, so STAT cases stop piling up on the same radiologist.

The Problem with Rule-Based Worklists

Most worklists today run on a fixed set of rules and strings an admin configures once and rarely revisits: route this modality here, prioritize STAT above routine, assign this site to that pool of readers. Applying those rules case by case, in real time, across every site is still manual work, and in practice radiologists sometimes pick off the cases they’d rather read, leaving the rest to whoever gets to the list next. The result is a worklist that looks organized on paper but still distributes STAT cases unevenly, with some radiologists reading STAT after STAT while others aren’t.

How New Lantern’s Agentic AI changes Traditional Routing

New Lantern’s routing is built to close that gap without changing who’s in charge of the rules. The agentic AI operates inside the priorities admins set, continuously reading the current state of the worklist and routing each new case to keep the load balanced across the group in real time. It takes over the manual work of applying the rules, faster and more consistently than a person checking the list by hand.

Admins and technologists still define the routing rules, whether that’s STAT status, modality, or site assignment, and can adjust them at any time without engineering involvement.

The AI doesn’t override those decisions. It just executes them efficiently.
